What About Glycerin?

Glycerin is a somewhat debated ingredient. For a long time it was thought of as a cheap soap base, but it does have some good moisturizing properties. It can be a wonderfully emollient skin care product, although some glycerin based soaps can be overly harsh.

The thrilling revelation is that glycerin is naturally created and retained in our cold soap making process, so it is not necessary to introduce additional purchased glycerin. Since Glycerin is a natural bi-product of the process of making soap, our soaps have all of the moisturizing glycerin that is created by this process, therefore, adding to the moisturizing properties of the soap.  -And furthermore, Glycerin is a humectant, which draws moisture from the air to our skin!

Instead of a purchased glycerin base, our cold process soap is made from scratch with Coconut, Olive, and Palm oil –and contains their naturally occurring moisturizing glycerin in every bar.  Cold process soap is a much better aid in nourishing and moisturizing your skin since it allows the ingredients and their beneficial bi-products to remain closer to their natural state.
